A.ngel.us is a community website for both logical and creative types who express their Catholic faith through their development of digital media. All types of programmers, Web designers, Web developers, graphic designers, podcasters. I.T. professionals, and digital music producers who do their work for the glory of God are welcome.
What is Angelus?
“Angelus” is a Latin word meaning “Angel.” It is also the name of a Christian prayer and devotion to the Incarnation of God, when God took on a human form. As we continue to give the Internet and digital media their form, we should always remember that all things are possible with God.
The prayer is recited as follows, traditionally three times a day:
Leader: The angel of the Lord announced unto Mary.
Group: And she conceived by the Holy Spirit.
All: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
L: Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
G: Be it done unto me according to your Word.
All: Hail Mary…
L: And the Word was made flesh.
G: And dwelt among us.
All: Hail Mary…
L: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
G: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
L: Let us pray
G: We beseech you, O Lord, pour your grace into our hearts, that as we have known the incarnation of your Son Jesus Christ by the message of an angel, so by his cross and passion we may be brought to the glory of his resurrection; through the same Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
