A University for Catholic Media
There are a lot of good universities where a student can learn about media production, and there are a handful of Catholic universities really dedicated to the teachings of the Church. Now there is a university that is both. John Paul the Great University in San Diego, California is offering students a chance to learn the tools and techniques of modern media while within a nurturing environment of Catholic culture and fellowship. I am excited to see what this school can become and the good works it can do.
From their website: “John Paul the Great Catholic University is a visionary teaching institution focused on and dedicated to molding students into future innovators and creators, leaders and entrepreneurs. Students have the opportunity to acquire a deep and personal knowledge of Jesus Christ. Catholic ethical, moral, and social values provide a guiding compass for everything we do.”
The university offers coursework in business administration, communications media, technology and Biblical theology. Being located in southern California I would bet it is producing students and work that will have a chance to get exposed to the larger media production industry as a whole.
John Paul II called for using new forms of media in evangelizing the world. You are visiting this website probably because you are interested in doing the same. If you are interested in learning more about this university, please visit their website at www.jpcatholic.com.
